I wake up around 7:30. Nicoline has a cup of coffee ready, then we decide to walk down to Ybor City to find a place to have breakfast. We pass a very Christian barbor shop which advertises creative hair cutting, but no breakfast options. Not sure if it was because it was Sunday morning, but everything is closed. We do see a couple of breakfast places but they dodn’t open until nine, or in one case even ten in the morning!
In the end we buy ourselves some snacks and orange juice (we already had coffee) at a 7-eleven and sit down at one of the deserted terrasses before heading back to our AirBnB.
Back at the AirBnB we do some last-minute social media activities before checking out by 11. Because we are unclear on the local public transport, we decide to drag our suitcase to Ybor, just about the same route we had walked in the morning. It is a bit of a hike, but we are not in any hurry. We end up getting to the free street car in just about half an hour, taking regular breaks.
The street car, which run every 20 minutes or so, even on a Sunday, takes us to the cruise terminal. In spite of the note on the boarding pass that boarding would start at 1, we are able to get through the checkpoints (still dragging our suitcase, due to some confusion on our part) and onto the ship. Our cabin turns out to be ready and Nicoline unpacks the suitcase. By 12:30 we are well stowed away and start to explore the ship.
We do a first exploration of the ship, have lunch at the Lido deck buffet, and spend the afternoon mostly reading. Nicoline tries to sleep a bit but that doesn’t really work out. At 3 we attend the mandatory safety drill.
By a quarter past four, I notice the ship moving and quickly go outside on deck 3 to make some pictures. Nicoline meanwhile visits the gym and the spa raffle. Our dining seating is late (at eight) so we hang out some more, I start processing yesterday’s and today’s photos.
We shower and get dressed up for dinner. Dinner is actually pretty good, good quality food and decent size portions. By the time we’re back from dinner it’s nine and Nicoline goes to bed, I do do some computering.
