We are at sea the whole day today. And, it is a longer day, since the clock moved back by an hour last night (we’re now in the Central time zone). But nothing to be bored about.
Before breakfast Nicoline, who gets up much earlier than I do, has made swimming trunks for Marching Monkey. He now looks like he is on vacation as well! While I am having my breakfast Nicoline joins a stretching class.
After breakfast I start my camera exploration of the ship at the top, deck 10, the “Sky Deck.” This highest accessible part of the ship is mostly empty, I suppose it can be used by sun bathers but I haven’t seen any of those on this cruise.
Below the Sky Deck is the “Sports Deck”, Deck 9. Not sure why this is called the Sports Deck, since the actual gym is one deck lower. Maybe because there is a tennis and a basketball court on this deck (all covered by nets)? And people do some jogging here, probably because there are so few other people to trip over.
The Sports Deck is also where you can get a good look at the sliding roof of the Lido deck. This roof allows the main swimming pool to be out to the sun, or all covered. The roof has been half-open during our entire trip, but I’m sure it will be closed in bad weather.
Nicoline has attended two presentations of America’s Test Kitchen today while I spend most of the day reading and messing around on the computer. I am working on a couple of little projects on the computer. I expected to have a lot of time during this cruise, but am finding that I rely much more on the internet to quickly look up small things than I ever realized.
In the afternoon we join for the daily Tea in the dining room. The kitchen really works hard to make the Tea something special.
